Lifelines, Emotional Support, Sanity Restorers...
As we begin to move out of lockdown and restrictions are gradually starting to lift, I’ve been reflecting on things that have helped make this very long and challenging year more bearable, meaningful, and even - dare I say it - enjoyable at times.
And what I’ve noticed is that they’re mostly not big, earth-shattering things!
They’re all seemingly small and simple things that, under normal circumstances, we might take for granted, or at least not give much emphasis.
Things like:
Long dog walks in the glen where we live.
Running (I run purely and simply because it makes me feel AMAZING afterwards!).
Reading (Isn’t one of life’s great luxuries getting tucked up in bed with a relaxing candle and a good book? Bliss!).
Natural aromatherapy candles and essential oils.
Writing down all the crap that’s swirling around in my head with nowhere to go + the things I’m grateful for every day.
Learning new things.
Calls with friends and family.
Cuddles with our doggies.
Creative Projects.
