+ How long can I expect my Sweet Serenity botanical candle to last for?

With our 180ml Sweet Serenity candle jars, you can expect to enjoy approximately 40 or more hours of burning time if you care for your candle well. If this seems like a lot of hours, it is! And it’s because candles made from natural soy wax burn cooler and therefore slower than paraffin wax candles, meaning they typically last longer.

+ How will my Sweet Serenity botanical candle be packaged when you post to me?

As a small, handmade & eco-conscious business, we package all of our botanical candles and wax melts in either recycled or recyclable materials to post them safely to you, meaning no annoying and unnecessary plastic packaging for you to dispose of.

+ Why do you use soy wax for your botanical candles?

We choose to use natural soy wax for our candles and wax melts because it’s healthier and more environmentally friendly than paraffin wax. Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource that burns cleanly and is non-toxic. Additionally, the soy wax we use is non-GMO and sustainably produced in Europe, meaning it’s even kinder to the environment. (Much of the soy wax used in candle making is produced in the US and comes from genetically modified soy crops.)

+ Why do you scent your candles with essential oils rather than artificial fragrance?

Essential oils are a fantastic natural home fragrancing option for anyone who doesn’t like overpowering artificial scents and wants to avoid using artificially scented, synthetic chemical-based products in their home.

Also, people who experience physical reactions such as headaches or nausea from being exposed to artificial fragrance often find that they don’t experience the same unpleasant side-effects when it comes to 100% pure essential oils.

Pure essential oils also have the additional benefit of having therapeutic benefits that artificial fragrances don't. Our natural botanical candles and wax melts aim to harness both the gorgeous natural scents and also the valuable therapeutic properties of pure essential oils, helping you to relax, unwind, and uplifting your mood, naturally.

+ Why do you make your botanical candles in amber glass jars?

We chose amber glass jars for our botanical candles for two reasons:

1.Amber glass protects the essential oils infused in our botanical candles from potentially damaging sunlight. In aromatherapy, storing pure essential oils in dark coloured glass containers helps to preserve the integrity of these precious and often very expensive substances and their wonderful therapeutic benefits.

2.They give our candles a rustic, apothecary-style aesthetic which we feel fits perfectly with our handmade, botanical-infused natural soy candles. Plus, the amber glass gives off a beautifully warm and comforting orange glow when your candle is lit! Super cosy.

+ What happens if the flower petals get too close to the wick when my candle is burning?

If the flower petals in your botanical candle float in directly next to the wick and are interfering with the clean burning of your candle, simply extinguish your candle briefly and take a wooden skewer (or similar item) and push the little petals away from the centre of the candle. The beautiful natural petals add lovely pop of colour to our botanical candles and wax melts and look lovely floating in the pool of molten wax!
